The stunning landscapes of Great Britain are at their very best in the National Parks, and these are the perfect place to start if you are looking for somewhere to escape, relax and space to explore.

The Brecon Beacons is a breathtaking landscape of sandstone peaks, open moorland and green valleys and is understandably popular with artists and photographers.

As you explore the mountains, caves and castles in the area you may see Welsh Mountain Ponies running wild and elegant Red Kites which are now thriving in the area.

Treat your senses and plan your visit around one of the world famous festivals; Hay-on-Wye Literature in May, Brecon Jazz in August and Abergavenny Food in September.

Sheepskin cottages, Snowdonia national park, paradise for outdoor enthusiasts

The Snowdonia National Park in North Wales is a paradise for outdoor enthusiasts with a diverse range of mountain and coastal landscape.  Many focus their exertions on Snowdon, the tallest mountain in Wales, but there is so much more to discover. Helen’s favourite place is Glyder Fawr whose rocky summit makes an unusual and dramatic foreground to an absolutely breathtaking view across to Snowdon.

Snowdonia is home to the world famous music festival Llangollen Eisteddfod which takes place each July, previous performers have included Pavarotti and Placido Domingo.

Sheepskin cottages, Exmoor national park, peace and tranquillity

Exmoor is often overlooked as tourists head to Cornwall but it’s a place where you really can find peace and tranquillity. Inspiring landscapes await you with wide open moorland, and mist shrouded valleys.

You may glimpse Exmoor ponies on your way to explore the high ridges of the moors. Adam, loves sea fishing here in the hidden coves along the South West Coastal path which can make for an exhilarating and dramatic walk.

Sheepskin cottages, peak district national park, scenery and walking routes, spectacular landscapes

Helen’s favourite of all is the Peak District with its wonderful variety of scenery and walking routes in the spectacular landscapes of the Dark and White Peaks.  From limestone dales to dramatic high moorlands whether you want a challenging hike, a short stroll, to explore stunning caverns or even some of Europe’s most popular climbing routes, it is all here.
